Our Parish Secretary, Carey Gillespie, came to us with eight years previous experience as a Lutheran church secretary in Greenville, SC. She and her husband, Michael, moved to Converse Heights in Spartanburg a few years ago and are delighted to be so close to St. John’s. When not in the office, Carey enjoys gardening and is a Master Gardener. She can often be seen walking in the neighborhood with her beloved Sophy, a West Highland terrier. Her daughter, Jennifer was married in our sanctuary in April 2008 and now lives with her husband, Taylor, in Charleston where mom and dad visit as often as possible.
