St. John's Lutheran Church

NOEL HELMS was born in North Carolina, but moved to Spartanburg when he was four. He was raised in Second Presbyterian Church here in Spartanburg. Noel graduated from Spartanburg High School and Presbyterian College. He is owner of Helms and Company, Inc. - a stucco and plastering company. Noel is married to Dori and father to Nate and Isabel. While at Second Presbyterian, he was a member of the Church Session, chairman of the Church Building Committee, and served on the Search Committee. He and his family have been members of St. John's for almost 4 years. He is a member of the Enrichment Sunday School class and co-chairs the Locker Room Men's Group. He has been a member of the Committee of 100, sponsored through Lutheran Men in Mission, since 2004 and is currently Chair of the Christian Education Committee of the Congregational Council.
