Bob Pettis - Worship and Music
ROBERT PETTIS has been a member of St. John’s since 1973. He has been married to Cheryl for 36 years and has two grown children, Dr. Kristen Sheets and Benjamin Pettis.
Bob has been a public school educator for 36 years serving as a middle school teacher, elementary school principal and the Director of Instructional Technology for Spartanburg School District Six. After retiring in Spartanburg Six, Bob returned to teaching in Polk County, NC where he is a 7th grade science teacher.
Bob has served on Church Council three previous times. His committee service at St. John’s includes Long Range Planning, Youth Ministry, Property, Mutual Ministry, Christian Education, and Communications and Technology. He has also served as a Sunday School Teacher for the Third, Fifth and Senior High Class. He was re-elected to the Congregational Council in 2009 and currently serves as Chair of the Worship and Music Committee, as well as the Council's Secretary.
Cheryl and Bob spend their free time traveling and entertaining their two grandchildren, Emma 3 yrs and Liam 16 months.
