St. John's Brass Ensemble
The St. John's Brass Ensemble performs for services at the church and takes music to audiences elsewhere in the Spartanburg area.
The group was formed in 1997 to assist in worship at St. John's and that continues as its primary mission.
The St. John's Brass Ensemble also performs quintet music for other church events including weddings, receptions, social gatherings, and community events.
Besides the standard sacred and classical chamber literature, repertoire includes popular and jazz-oriented music that fits many social occasions within the church as well as other indoor and outdoor settings in the community.
The Brass Ensemble rehearses Wednesday nights at 6:30 in Room L12 on the lower level of the church.
